The General Services Administration, Region 8, selected our Vertical Construction Department from a short list of contractors to construct a 3 room office suite in the U.S. Custom House in downtown Denver, Colorado. The office suite was to be used as sample of what their office lease space resembles. This work was completed in a building that is on the historic register and special attention had to be paid to maintain the original architectural features in place while repairing walls, floors and ceiling space. Work included sheetrock patching, flooring, painting of the walls and other special and unique features. The contract also required RME personnel to pick up furniture from the Denver Federal Center approximately 10 miles away and staging all furniture and cubicle spaces. We performed this work on an accelerated schedule which required us to work closely with not only the GSA Construction Department but the interior designers during the course of work.
